Some expectant parents are slipping away from the traditional blue or pink nursery decor. With so many new colors available for the infant and the nursery, it is no longer necessary to stick with the tried and true traditional colors. In fact, many parents, especially those who have chosen not to know the gender of the baby before he arrives, are opting to decorate the nursery with a neutral color scheme that is suitable for both boys and girls.
Other parents are venturing slightly along the color chart, selecting colors they believe to be close enough to the traditional to announce the baby’s gender. Purple bedding for the nursery has become one of those colors for the little girl. While purple is a deep dark color as most of us think of it, we must bear in mind that purple slides down the color chart to pink. Along the color chart is an array of shades and hues that will beautifully fit into the nursery.
Purple baby bedding sets range from deep purple combined with lavender and pink to lavender backgrounds decorated with pink flowers and green leaves. We cannot fail to mention a delightful set of crib bedding that sets plum as the background and is complemented with pink and white. It is easy to see that the purple colors of today offer a full range of possibilities for the little girl’s first room.
As with any choice of color scheme for the nursery, expectant parents should not rush in making a choice. They should take their time and decide if the color and the pattern will be something they can enjoy at least during the infant’s first year. Most babies spend approximately 70% of their time during their first year of life in the nursery in the crib. Needless to say, moms will be spending quite a bit of time in the nursery, too.
