Everyone who has a television needs some place to keep it that it will not only keep the set safe but will give you the best viewing angle. If you live in a tight area, like a small apartment this can be a challenge. Floor model television brackets are known for the amount of floor space they use. When floor space is at a premium other alternatives have to be considered. One great way to solve the problem of floor space is to install a TV bracket.
There are several types of TV bracket available. The two largest divisions are wall brackets and ceiling brackets. Wall brackets are safer and will hang more securely but you cannot get a complete viewing angle because the walls will block the movement of the TV. Ceiling mounted brackets however need to be securely fastened to a beam but can give you up to a 360 degree view horizontally and 70 degree view vertically. Ceiling brackets are more expensive than wall brackets also.
TV brackets are also grouped by the range of vertical and horizontal viewing angles available. The least expensive are essentially locked into place and cannot be turned or tilted at all. The next step up is the 90 degree, then the 180 degree. Both of these second models also tilt up and down. Finally there is the ceiling mounted universal that if hung far enough from the wall will give a 360 degree view and up to 70 degrees of vertical tilt.
Mounting a TV bracket needs to be done correctly for safety. A television, even a small LCD, can cause serious injury if it falls on someone´s head. If you are installing on the wall find a wall stud and use only heavy bolts and washers to secure it. If it is a ceiling mount you need to find a beam to secure the bracket.
